Maui County Planning Department Offers Free Overview of the Community Planning Process to Local Orga

WAILUKU, Maui - Do you have a community group which wants to know more about the Maui County community planning process? Do you want to know how to get involved in planning for the future of your community or find out how certain projects may affect neighborhoods, parks and schools?


If so, the Maui County Planning Departments Long Range Division would like to offer its expertise.


Long range planners are available to provide presentations about the community plan update process to any local community association, civic organizations, service groups, school associations and others upon request. Besides educating the public the presentations would also provide a way for groups to voice their ideas and concerns regarding the process.


So far the division has made presentations to the Alliance of Maui Community Associations, the Kula Community Association and the West Maui Taxpayers Association. Another presentation has been scheduled before the Maui Non-Profit Executive Director's Association upon their request at their April 13 meeting.


The Planning Department will be scheduling additional presentations with other organizations such as environmental, private and public, farming groups, alliances and faith based entities just to name a few.
