Benefits Check Up
The National Council on the Aging created BenefitsCheckUp as a free, easy-to-use service that identifies federal and state assistance programs for older Americans. Users take 10-15 minutes to enter information about their own financial situation (or that of a loved one) into an online questionnaire.
BenefitsCheckUp then explains what benefit programs that person may be eligible for and how to apply for them. The service is confidential and does not require name, address, phone number, Social Security number, or other personal information; users simply enter general information, such as age, income, and zip code. Two additional services are provided, which operate in the same manner. The first, BenefitsCheckUpRx, finds the best combination of programs to lower the cost of an individual's medicines and typically takes 5-10 minutes to complete. Medicare Card Finder helps individuals select and enroll in the best Medicare-approved drug discount card for them in just 3-5 minutes. BenefitsCheckUp |
