Mission: To act as the principal management aide to the Mayor in the accomplishment of the Countywide mission and goals.
Department Goals:
- To establish Countywide management systems to coordinate and monitor the County's administrative practices and organizational structure in order to ensure the greatest public benefit.
- To evaluate the management performance of each County agency in supporting the accomplishment of the Countywide mission and goals.
Description: The Management program provides overall management support to the Mayor in implementing the goals and policies of the administration. The program also ensures that County operations are evaluated and reviewed to assure ongoing effectiveness and maximum public benefit. Program staff are responsible for the coordination of interdepartmental review of:
- Progress on capital improvement projects
- The selection of consultants for special projects
Program Objectives: To serve as the principal management aide to the Mayor in the supervision and evaluation of all executive departments and to assist the Mayor in maintaining the highest level of government services.
Energy Management Program: The Energy Management program is responsible for staffing a Community Energy Information Center, coordinating energy efficiency and renewable energy projects for the State and County, participating in County, State, and utility sector energy planning programs, managing the County's Energy Emergency Preparedness Program, and administering the County's Energy Program.
Management Information Systems (MIS): The MIS Division is responsible for computer support throughout the County. Our duties range from system planning and design to end user support. We assist County offices in determining and implementing their computerization needs. In addition, MIS provides technical assistance for the County in the procurement of computer hardware and software, coordinates computer training for end users and establishes computer standards for the County.
