Responsibilities
The Energy Management program is responsible for:
  • Providing energy information to County departments, agencies and to the community
  • Participating in County, State, and utility sector energy planning programs

Objectives
To promote a sustainable energy future by:
  • Increasing the energy efficiency of Maui's economy and to increase the amount of renewable energy used by promoting regulatory and market reforms that strengthen the energy efficiency and renewable energy industries.
  • Increasing the County's energy self-sufficiency and strengthening the renewable energy industry.
  • Increasing Maui's energy security and energy emergency preparedness by promoting distributed generation and by supporting emergency management activities.
