On April 17th, 2010 the County of Maui will celebrate achievements in volunteer service which bring hope and vitality to our communities. We invite the community to submit nominations for outstanding service rendered during 2009 for the Volunteer Center Recognition Awards Program. The purpose of the program is to inspire individuals to make a positive impact on the lives of others and in places where it can make a difference.
Nomination Forms must be post marked by February 22, 2010.
Prizes include Tommy Bahama's Restaurant Dinner Certificates, Queen Kaahumanu Gift Cards and tote bags with goodies. Nomination Information Packet
Goals
The County of Maui’s Volunteer Center strives to be a collaborative Center that works in partnership with all sectors of our diverse community by promoting and supporting volunteerism as essential to civic engagement.
Volunteerism spans every cause and basic human need. It fosters healthy individuals and communities. Numerous studies show that the act of giving time fosters health and happiness in the giver. Volunteer experiences can help you meet new people, have fun, use existing skills and build new ones!

Our mission is to support and promote the engagement of all residents and visitors in volunteerism to enhance community!
To fulfill its mission, the Volunteer Center focuses on four Core Competencies:
