I am pleased to invite you to the Maui County Energy Expo 2007, “Green Power, Green Future,” being held November 7-9 at the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel and Spa.

As you know, our precarious dependence on imported fossil fuel is beginning to affect our way of life. This educational forum on renewable energy will showcase current and emerging technologies and will bring together business, government and community members as partners working toward a more secure and sustainable energy future for Maui County.

The Energy Expo will highlight ways local companies and residents are reducing their carbon footprint, and address important renewable energy topics.

Because we believe that youth are major stakeholders, a special panel focusing on youth efforts will feature students from Hana High School, Seabury Hall, Maui Community College and the EAST program. Hearing from this group is bound to impress all of us and underscore the urgency for the active pursuit of renewable energy options.
