General
These include County fees and general request applications for the public. These are not applications for development.
Historic & Country Town
These applications are for any project within the Historic Districts of Lahaina Town and Wailuku Town and the Country Town Business Districts of Hana, Kaunakakai, Lanai City, Makawao and Paia.
Lanai
Applications specifically for development and project review on the Island of Lanai. Other Maui County applications may still be needed for Lanai projects.
Molokai
Applications specifically for development and project review on the Island of Molokai. Other Maui County applications may still be needed for Molokai projects.
Review
These include applications for review of a variety of permits and environmental review.
Signage and Banners
Applications specifically for all types of permanent or temporary signs.
Special Management Area
These include a variety of applications necessary for development (large and small) or increase in intensity or change of use within the SMA, which is that area of land in proximity to Maui's shoreline.
Special Use
These applications are used when a proposed use is not listed as a permitted use in a zoning or state land use district or is listed as a special use.
Short Term Rentals
These applications are used to pursue a permit for either a bed & breakfast home or a transient vacation rental within Maui County.
Subdivision
These applications are used when someone wishes to subdivide or reconsolidate land within Maui County.
Variance & Appeals
These applications are used to request a variance to a zoning standard or requirement or to appeal a decision rendered by a County Department or Commission.
Zoning and Land Use Plans
These applications are for land use entitlements and zone changes.
