Kahu'aina Award

An award presented by the Fire & Public Safety Commission and the Chief of the Maui Fire Department to recognize the outstanding effort of a person or company that provides assistance that resulted in the preservation of land, structures, etc.

Kahuola Award

An award presented by the Fire & Public Safety Commission and the Chief of the Maui Fire Department to recognize the nominee for performing a selfless act probably resulting in the saving of a human life.

Nomination Process

  1. Submit completed nomination form and supporting documents (i.e. police report, news article, etc.) to the Fire Chief's office: 200 Dairy Rd., Kahului, HI 96732 or fax to (808)270-7919.
  2. Fire Chief reviews and accepts nomination form.
  3. Fire & Public Safety Commission Chair reviews and accepts nomination form.
  4. Kahuola/Kahu'aina award is presented to recipient during on of the monthly Fire & Public Safety Commission meeting.
