The County of Maui employs over 2,500 people working in over 500 different jobs. The County has 20 departments, with work sites on the islands of Maui, Molokai, and Lanai, and provides a wide range of services including police and fire protection, social services, public planning and infrastructure, water supply, parks and recreation, and other administrative and enforcement services.

Program Description
The function of the Personnel Administration and Management Support Services program is to classify positions, recruit for qualified applicants, train employees, and handle labor relations issues in a timely, efficient, economic, and judicious manner.
The Civil Service Commission
The
Civil Service Commission hears appeals by any officer or employee aggrieved by any action of the Director of Personnel Services or an appointing authority and advises the Mayor and Director on problems concerning personnel administration.
