 Timeline

The Department of Planning's Long Range Division conducted community engagement events in 2010 and 2014 to gather broad public input from the community.  The Community Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC) reviewed the draft Community Plan Update from March to October 2015. The Moloka'i Planning Commission began their six month review in November 2015.  The County Council will then have up to one year to review and adopt the Community Plan Update.

 Community Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC)
The CPAC comprises 13 Moloka'i community members who are appointed by the County Council and the Mayor to review and recommend revisions to the Community Plan Update. The public is encouraged to attend the CPAC meetings.

Public Testimony
Oral or written testimony will be received on each agenda item subject to the provisions of Chapter 92, Hawai`i Revised Statutes and the Rules of Practice and Procedure for the Moloka`i Community Plan Advisory Committee. Written testimony should be received at least two (2) business days before the meeting to insure distribution to the Committee. Fifteen (15) copies of written testimony are needed if testimony is presented immediately prior to or at the meeting.

Community Engagement
An open house to present past community input was held Nov 15, 2014 at Kaunakakai Elementary School Cafeteria.  

 An introductory public open house was held on June 26, 2010 at Kaunakakai Elementary School Cafeteria, followed by two public workshops held Oct 2 and Oct 16, 2010 at Mitchell Pau'ole Center.
