Overview

The Long Range Division is currently in the process of updating the 1998 South Maui Community Plan and maps, adding new elements required by Maui County Code Chapter 2.80B and ensuring consistency with the Countywide Policy Plan and Maui Island Plan. 

The Draft Plan builds upon extensive community input, coordination with other County and State departments, and best planning practices to promote complete, healthy and resilient communities. It provides a long-term vision for South Maui and serves as a policy guide for County agencies, the Maui Planning Commission, and County Council on projects and decisions that impact South Maui. 

The Draft Plan will undergo extensive review by the South Maui Community Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC), Maui Planning Commission and the Maui County Council prior to its adoption.
