Part of our mission at EP&S is to fund environmental initiatives that strive to build a sustainable community and are guided by the principle of Malama 'Aina. We primarily achieve this through two funding streams: the Recycling Grants Program and the Green Grants Program.
Recycling Grants Program
Our Recycling Section has successfully partnered with hundreds of grantees over the past 30 years. With an estimated fund allocation of $500,000, the Recycling Grants Program focuses on landfill diversion, zero waste initiatives, educational programs, equipment upgrades, program expansion, materials collection, and the collection and processing of waste resource materials.
Green Grants Program
With an estimated fund allocation of $100.000, the newly established Green Grants Program seeks to support small-scale innovative environmental initiatives or demonstration projects. These projects should align with the mission of EP&S and contribute to sustainability, natural resource protection, conservation, and restoration. Projects with a focus on women, youth, and traditional native Hawaiian practices and approaches are highly encouraged.
