Project Description

In 2016, the DPR hired SMS Research to assess County residents’ level of use, need and satisfaction with County parks and recreation facilities and programs.  To understand current use, needs and preferences and how they have changed over the last seven years, the DPR is conducting a new survey with the help of Anthology Marketing Group.   In 2016, more than 12,000 randomly selected Maui County households received the survey in the mail and more than 2,700 residents completed it.  The survey’s results provide important information DPR needs to plan for the future of County parks and recreation facilities and programs.  

Project Status and Schedule

The current project began in early 2023 and the survey was mailed at random to residents in June.  The project is scheduled to be complete by fall 2023 and the final survey report will be posted here when complete.
