The Outdoor Warning Siren system is one layer of many to keep Maui County residents informed of an immediate threat to life. The Outdoor Warning Siren system is used during an emergency to alert residents who are outdoors to seek further information or direction from your cell phone, radio, or television.
Get involved: MEMA needs assistance from residents with the reporting of siren sounding results during the monthly siren test that occurs on the first working day of the month.
Get involved by visiting the Maui County Outdoor Warning Siren hub site at www.mauisirens.com to report siren test results, as well as view additional information on Hawaii's All-Hazard Statewide Outdoor Warning Siren System.
The Maui Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) is starting CERT recertification and initial certification training. If you are already a CERT member that completed training and received a certificate, but not receive an email (or phone call) and would like to remain an ACTIVE CERT volunteer please send an email to cert@mauicounty.gov with your current contact information and your intention to stay ACTIVE.
If you know of anyone - family or friends - who are interested in being an active volunteer in our Maui community, get the word out and have them send us an email too! We are happy to add volunteers to our Maui CERT Ohana. For additional information on CERT please go to mauicounty.gov/CERT.
Mahalo for your service to the Maui community!
