West Maui road reopening announced; West Maui Islander bus route to resume Saturday, Oct. 3

Lower Honoapiilani Road near Napili Place will reopen on Friday, Oct. 2, 2020, after a culvert replacement project has been substantially completed, the Department of Public Works announced.

Work to complete pavement striping and adjust utility manholes will require intermittent one-lane closures through the end of October. Drainage channel work will be ongoing until mid-December.

The reopening of Lower Honoapiilani Road will permit the resumption of the West Maui Islander bus route for the Maui Bus beginning Saturday, Oct. 3. The West Maui Islander bus will return to its normal routing into Kapalua.
