County of Maui Statement/Clarification Maui Interscholastic League

The County of Maui seeks to clarify that the Maui Interscholastic League (MIL) is not under the County’s jurisdiction. The MIL represents 13 public and private high schools within Maui County that sponsor a range of competitive athletic sports. It is an independent entity separate and apart from the County of Maui.

At this time, Maui County’s Youth Athletic Programs, under the Department of Parks & Recreation, continue to operate subject to Public Health Emergency Rules, amended on December 30, 2020. These rules allow organized youth teams to practice and compete in outdoor team sports in County parks, excluding sports that involve close contact.
