Mayor Victorino releases statement on high school graduation rumor

Today the Office of the Mayor received multiple phone calls and emails from parents expressing concerns about rumors that the County of Maui will prohibit parents from attending high school commencement ceremonies planned for War Memorial Stadium.
In response, County of Maui Mayor Michael Victorino issued the following statement:
“Rumors circulating on social media and elsewhere about high school graduation ceremonies are inaccurate. I will be meeting with school administrators to discuss health and safety protocols for high school graduation events planned for County venues. Shortly after that meeting we will announce detailed information and guidance for students and their families. In the meantime, we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.”
