Mayor Victorino comments on Gov. Ige's appointment of Lynn DeCoite to the state Senate

Today Maui County Mayor Michael Victorino commented on Governor Ige’s appointment of State Rep. Lynn DeCoite, (D, Lanai-Molokai-Paia-Hana) to fill the vacant Senate seat of former Sen. J. Kalani English, who resigned due to complications from COVID-19.

“Congratulations to Lynn DeCoite. We have worked together for years while she was a representative, and we will continue to work closely as she enters the Senate. The needs of our residents in Hana, East Maui, Upcountry, Molokai and Lanai are diverse and complex, and Lynn can build on her experience in the House to serve her new constituents in the 7th Senatorial District.”

“Senator J. Kalani English left big shoes to fill, and I am confident Lynn has the legislative experience to fill them. She has earned the support of her constituents and respect of her fellow legislators.”
