Maui County Mayor Michael Victorino released the following statement on today’s swearing in of Ketanji Brown Jackson as a U.S. Supreme Court justice:
“Today’s swearing in of Ketanji Brown Jackson as the first Black woman to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court is an inspiring moment for our nation and its promise of equality for all. It’s also fitting that this historic milestone comes just days after celebrating the 50th anniversary of the passage of Title IX, co-authored by Maui’s own Patsy Mink. I have no doubt Patsy would have savored this moment.”
