What is an Outdoor Warning Siren Test?
On the first State workday of each month a test is conducted of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) at 11:15 am, followed by a test of the Outdoor Warning Sirens at 11:45 am ; this siren test consists of a 60-second steady tone.
In order to ensure that all sirens are working as expected, or to identify any issues, the sirens are tested monthly. To successfully test all sirens, the Maui Emergency Management Agency needs volunteers across Maui, Molokai, and Lanai to listen and report the results of the monthly siren testing. We encourage you to assist with the siren test by reporting your results at www.mauisirens.com.
