PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 103D, HRS, SEALED PROPOSALS for HANA FUEL TANK ROOF, Project No. 08-04 will be received and time stamped by the Bid Receiver, Purchasing Division, Department of Finance, until 2:00 P.M. on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2008 at which time and place the sealed proposals will be publicly opened and read out loud.
Bids shall be received at the Wells Street Professional Center, 2145 Wells Street, Suite 104, Wailuku, Hawaii 96793.
This project involves construction of metal roofing for the existing fuel tanks located at the County Baseyard in Hana, next to the Hana Fire Station.
Plans and specifications may be examined at said office and borrowed at the Division of Purchasing, Department of Finance, County of Maui, 2145 Wells Street, Suite 104, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793. Borrowed plans and specifications shall be returned intact and in good condition within 30 days after the bid opening date.
The County of Maui, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252) and the Regulations of the U. S. Department of Transportation (Title 49, Part 21) issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that the contract entered in pursuant to the advertisement will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, or disability.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Regulations of the Secretary of Labor implementing Executive Order 11246, as amended shall be complied with on this project.
All prospective bidders shall possess a "B" General Building Contractor’s license held in the State of Hawaii, with appropriate Subcontractors.
Each proposal shall be on a form furnished by the Department of Public Works, County of Maui. The proposal guaranty shall be equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid submitted.
Estimated construction cost is between $150,000.00 to 300,000.00
The Department of Finance reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any defects in said proposals for the best interest of the public.
