NOTICE TO BIDDERS
SEALED BIDS for the ULUPALAKUA 100,000 GALLON WATER TANK REPLACEMENT, JOB NO. 15-06, KULA, ISLAND OF MAUI, STATE OF HAWAII, will be received by the Director of the Department of Water Supply, Kalana O Maui Building, 5th floor, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, until 2:00 P.M. ON OCTOBER 12, 2015, at which time and place sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The project involves furnishing all labor, tools, materials and equipment as necessary to replace an existing 25,000 gallon water tank and foundation and related appurtenances and vaults, with a new 100,000 gallon glass fused steel tank and associated vaults and appurtenances. This includes the replacement of existing utilities, construction of a gravel access road, site clearing and tree removal, and installation of other project related improvements.
A compact disk (CD) containing the bid documents for this Ulupalakua 100,000 Gallon Water Tank Replacement project may be purchased from the Engineering Division of said department at a cost of TEN DOLLARS ($10.00). There will be no refund for these bid documents once they are purchased. Payment shall be in the form of cash, check or money order payable to "Department of Water Supply".
A pre-bid conference and tour of the project site will be scheduled for September 29, 2015 at 9:00 AM. All Bidders ARE ENCOURAGED to attend. The pre-bid conference will occur before the tour of the site and will be held at the Department of Water Supply’s Water Resources and Planning Conference Room at 9:00AM. Bidders planning to attend this pre-bid conference and tour are requested to call 270-7835 and inform the Department of Water Supply of their intent to attend the conference at least THREE (3) days prior to the date of the pre-bid conference.
To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess applicable and valid State of Hawaii contractor licenses to perform the work. Bidders must NOT be more than 180 days over the Contract Time (without approved Time Extensions) on any current Department of Water Supply Capital Improvement Projects. This includes subsidiary companies.
Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid, including additives, payable to the "County of Maui" and in compliance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended.
