NOTICE TO BIDDERS 
SEALED BIDS for HOLOKAI ROAD WATERLINE UPGRADE (FROM KAUPAKALUA ROAD TO KEKOANUI ROAD), DWS JOB NO. 16-01A, ISLAND OF MAUI, STATE OF HAWAII, will be received by the Director of the Department of Water Supply, Kalana O Maui Building, 5th Floor, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, until 2:00 P.M. on JUNE 30, 2016, at which time and place sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The project consists of furnishing all materials, tools, equipment and labor as specified in the bid documents necessary to replace the existing waterlines on Holokai Road. The project involves the installation of approximately 3,350 linear feet of 8-inch waterline and appurtenances. The project also includes installing new water service laterals; transferring existing water services; removing existing standpipes, fire hydrants and pressure reducing valves; installing new fire hydrants; installing new pressure reducing valve assembly; and all incidentals in place complete.

A compact disk (CD) containing the bid documents for this Holokai Road Waterline Upgrade (from Kaupakalua Road to Kekoanui Road) project may be purchased from the Engineering Division of said department at a cost of TEN DOLLARS ($10.00). There will be no refund for these bid documents once they are purchased. Payment shall be in the form of cash, check or money order payable to “Department of Water Supply”.

A pre-bid conference and tour of the project site will be scheduled for 9:00 A.M. on JUNE 9, 2016. All Bidders ARE ENCOURAGED to attend. The pre-bid conference will occur before the tour of the site and will be held at the Department of Water Supply’s Water Resources and Planning Conference Room at 9:00 A.M. Bidders planning to attend this pre-bid conference and tour are requested to call 270-7835 and inform the Department of Water Supply of their intent to attend the conference at least THREE (3) days prior to the date of the pre-bid conference.

To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess applicable and valid State of Hawaii contractor licenses to perform the work. Bidders must NOT be more than 180 days over the Contract Time (without approved Time Extensions) on any current Department of Water Supply Capital Improvement Projects. This includes subsidiary companies.

Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid, including additives, payable to the "County of Maui" and in compliance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended.
