NOTICE TO BIDDERS
SEALED PROPOSALS for MAUI POLICE DEPARTMENT RENOVATION TO RADIO COMMUNICATIONS BUILDING, PHASE II, JOB NO. 08-09/P-71, shall be received and time stamped by the Bid Receiver, Department of Finance, Purchasing Division, Wells Street Professional Center, 2145 Wells Street, Suite 104, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, until 2:00 P.M., FRIDAY, APRIL 24, 2009 at which time and place the sealed proposals will be publicly opened and read out loud.
This project involves Renovation to Radio Communication Building.
Plans and specifications may be examined at said office and borrowed at the Division of Purchasing, Department of Finance, County of Maui, at the above address. Borrowed plans and specifications shall be returned intact and in good condition within 30 days after the bid opening date.
Any person, firm or corporation that submits a proposal is requested to provide the County with a current statement or certificate from the Director of Taxation and the Internal Revenue Services (IRS) to the effect that all delinquent taxes levied or accrued under State statutes against said person, firm or corporation have been paid, and nay other evidence requested by the acceptable to the contracting officer to demonstrate that the prospective bidder is not in default of any obligations due to the State or any of its political subdivisions. The above information is requested to be submitted with the bidder's proposal. The bidder is directed to the Notice for Tax Clearance Requirement contained herein and made an integral part of this bid.
The County of Maui, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252) and the Regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation (Title 49, Part 21) issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that the contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, or disability.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Regulations of the Secretary of Labor implementing Executive Order 11246, as amended shall be complied with on this project.
Each proposal shall be on a form furnished by the County of Maui. The proposal guaranty shall be equal to

The Director of Finance reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any defects in said proposals for the best interest of the public.
