SEALED BIDS for VINEYARD STREET WATERLINE REPLACEMENT, DWS JOB NO. 02-023, ISLAND OF MAUI, STATE OF HAWAII, will be received by the Director of the Department of Water Supply, Kalana O Maui Building, 5th Floor, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, until 2:00 P.M. ON TUESDAY, MAY 12, 2009, at which time and place sealed bids will be opened and read aloud publicly.

The project involves the replacement of an existing 6-inch waterline with approximately 2,700 linear feet of new 12-inch ductile iron pipe, including fire hydrants, service laterals and appurtenances along Vineyard Street from Main Street to Market Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii.

Bid documents may be purchased from the Engineering Division of said department at a cost of FORTY DOLLARS ($40.00) PER PRINTED SET. A compact disk (CD) containing the bid documents can also be purchased for an additional TEN DOLLARS ($10.00). There will be no refund for these bid documents once they are purchased. Payment shall be in the form of cash, check or money order payable to "Department of Water Supply".

A pre-bid conference has been scheduled at 9:00 A.M. ON THURSDAY, APRIL 23, 2009. Bidders are not required to attend. Bidders shall meet at the Department of Water Supply’s Engineering Division, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Hawaii 96793.

To be eligible to bid, bidders must posses a valid State of Hawaii General Engineering Contractor`s "A" license. A tax clearance from the Hawaii State Department of Taxation and Internal Revenue Service must be submitted.

Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, payable to the "Department of Water Supply" and in compliance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended.
