NOTICE TO BIDDERS
SEALED BIDS for CONSTRUCTION OF MAHINAHINA WATER TREATMENT FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS, TRAVELING SCREEN AT INTAKE DITCH, DWS JOB NO. 05-16, ISLAND OF MAUI, STATE OF HAWAII, will be received by the Director of the Department of Water Supply (DWS), Kalana O Maui Building, 5th Floor, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, until 2:00 PM ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 6, 2009, at which time and place sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The project involves furnishing all labor, tools, materials and equipment as specified in the bid documents necessary to replace a fixed filter screen with a self cleaning traveling screen and associated appurtenances, described in the plans and specifications. Also included is an upgrade to the existing electrical improvements at the ditch intake located in Mahinahina, Maui, Hawaii.
Bid documents may be purchased from the DWS Engineering Division at a cost of THIRTY AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($30.00) PER SET. A compact disk (CD) containing the bid documents can also be purchased for an additional TEN DOLLARS ($10.00). There will be no refund for these bid documents once they are purchased. Payment shall be in the form of cash, check or money order payable to “Department of Water Supply”.
To be eligible to bid, bidders must posses either a valid State of Hawaii General Engineering Contractor’s “A” license or a valid State of Hawaii “C” Specialty Contractor's license and must have a valid “Standard Questionnaire” on file with the Department’s Engineering Division no later than 48 hours prior to bid opening.
Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid, including additives, payable to the "Department of Water Supply" and in compliance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended.
