NOTICE TO BIDDERS
SEALED BIDS for the HONOKOHAU WATER TANK REPLACEMENT PROJECT, DWS JOB NUMBER 19-02B, LAHAINA, MAUI, HAWAII, will be received on the basis of MULTI-STEP SEALED BIDDING. For the unpriced first phase, technical offers referred to as the “Request for Qualifications” will be received in a sealed envelope, furnished by the Department, until 2:00 PM (HST) on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1, at the office of the Director of the Department of Water Supply, Kalana O Maui Building, 5th Floor, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793. AFTER THE EVALUATION OF SUBMITTED REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS, qualified bidders whose Qualifications are determined acceptable will be invited to submit sealed price bids, which will be received by the Director of the Department of Water Supply, Kalana O Maui Building, 5th Floor, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, until 2:00 PM (HST), on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2019, at which time and place sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The project involves furnishing all labor, tools, materials and equipment as necessary to REMOVE EXISTING STEEL WATER TANK AND REPLACE WITH NEW WATER STORAGE TANK, PIPING, APPURTENANCES, AND OTHER RELATED WORK.

A pre-bid conference and tour of the project site is scheduled for 8:00 AM (HST), on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2019. Bidders shall meet at the Department of Water Supply’s Central Baseyard, 614 Palapala Drive, Kahului, Maui, Hawaii. Bidders intending to attend this pre-bid conference are requested to call 270-7835 and inform the Department of Water Supply of their intent to attend the conference at least THREE (3) days prior to the date of the pre-bid conference. Bidders are required to provide their own transportation.
Bidders are required to comply with the newest procurement code, HRS, Chapter 103-D, any rules and regulations and policy directives issued with respects to Chapter 103-D and any amendments. Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the based bid, including additives, payable to the “County of Maui”. Bidders are to direct all questions regarding this bid to the Engineering Division of the Department of Water Supply at (808) 270-7835.
It is the sole responsibility of the bidder to review the requirements of the project and determine the appropriate licenses that are required to complete the project.
