NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Advertisement to Bid
Pursuant to Chapter 103D, Hawaii Revised Statutes, sealed bids for supplying, furnishing, and paying for all labor, materials, tools, transportation and equipment necessary to construct in place complete, all work as called for in the plans and specifications for the Accessibility Improvements At Various Park Facilities - Phase III-A, Job No. P07/001, for the Department of Parks and Recreation, County of Maui, will be received and time stamped by the Bid Receiver, Purchasing Division, Department of Finance, Wells Street Professional Center, 2145 Wells Street, Suite 104, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii up to and publicly opened at 2:00 P.M. on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2009.
Plans, specifications, and proposal forms may be obtained at the office of the Purchasing Division, Department of Finance, at our Wells Street address. Plans and specifications will be loaned to interested bidders; however, they must be returned intact and in good condition within 30 days after the bid opening date.
All prospective bidders shall possess a "B" General Building Contractor’s License, with appropriate Subcontractors, held in the State of Hawaii.
This project is being funded in whole or in part by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, as administered by the County of Maui. The successful awardee shall be responsible for compliance with all current County, State, and Federal laws, rules, and regulations, including without limitation, those mandated by HUD regarding the CDBG Program. Contractors and subcontractors are obligated to comply with the provisions of payment of not less than Federal or State prevailing wages, whichever is higher, for laborers and mechanics, and with other provisions set forth in the Bid Documents. The construction work shall be in compliance with the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards and Architectural Barriers Act (UFAS/ABA).
Minority, disadvantaged, and women-owned business are encouraged to submit proposals. No proposal will be considered unless accompanied by one of the following forms of bidders’ security: cash, a cashier’s check, or certified check on a bank insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or a bidder’s bond executed by an approved surety insurer, made payable to the Director of Finance in the manner, form, and amount required by Section 103D-323 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes. The proposal guaranty shall be equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid submitted.
