NOTICE TO BIDDERS
PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 103D, HRS, SEALED PROPOSALS for KALANA O MAUI BUILDING A/C DUCT CLEANING, JOB NO. 09-25 shall be received and time stamped by the Bid Receiver, Purchasing Division, Department of Finance, 2145 Wells Street, Suite 104, Wailuku, Hawaii 96793 up to 2:00 o'clock p.m. on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2010 at which time and place the sealed proposals will be publicly opened and read out loud.
This project involves the cleaning and decontamination of the building’s air conditioning system including each floors Air Handler Units (AHU), ducts, and registers. It also includes access panel installation to allow duct cleaning; and pretesting air devices/air handlers before cleaning and test/balance after cleaning.
Plans and specifications may be examined at said office and borrowed at the Division of Purchasing, Department of Finance, County of Maui, 2145 Wells Street, Suite 104, Wailuku, Hawaii 96793. Borrowed plans and specifications shall be returned intact and in good condition within 30 days after the bid opening date.
To be eligible to bid, bidders shall be certified members of the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA), or shall maintain membership in a nationally recognized non-profit industry organization dedicated to the cleaning of HVAC systems, prior to the award of the contract.
The County of Maui, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252) and the Regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation (Title 49, Part 21) issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that the contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, or disability.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Regulations of the Secretary of Labor implementing Executive Order 11246 shall be complied with on this project.
Each proposal shall be on a form furnished by the Department of Public Works, County of Maui. The proposal guaranty shall be equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid submitted.
The Department of Finance reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any defects in said proposals for the best interest of the public.
Estimated cleaning costs are between $100,000 - $300,000.
