NOTICE TO BIDDERS
SEALED BIDS for DRILLING OF MAHINAHINA EXPLORATORY WELL, DWS JOB NO. 09-18, ISLAND OF MAUI, STATE OF HAWAII, will be received by the Director of the Department of Water Supply, Kalana O Maui Building, 5th Floor, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, until 2:00 P.M. ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2010, at which time and place sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The project involves furnishing all labor, tools, materials and equipment as specified in the bid documents necessary to drill and case a 22-inch diameter well to a depth of approximately 1490 feet below ground, and testing the well to determine yield, including site preparation, fence, gate, and appurtenances at Mahinahina, Maui, Hawaii.
Bid documents may be purchased from the Engineering Division of said department at a cost of TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS ($25.00) PER SET. A compact disk (CD) containing the bid documents can also be purchased for an additional TEN DOLLARS ($10.00). There will be no refund for these bid documents once they are purchased. Payment shall be in the form of cash, check or money order payable to "Department of Water Supply".
A mandatory pre-bid conference has been scheduled at 9:00 A.M. ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2010. Bidders shall meet at the Department of Water Supply’s Engineering Division, 200 S. High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii. In addition, a pre-bid site tour has been scheduled at 9:00 A.M. ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2010. Bidders are not required to attend the site tour. Bidders shall meet at the DWS Lahaina Baseyard.
To be eligible to bid, bidders or their subcontractor must posses a valid State of Hawaii Specialty Contractor's C-57 license. Bidders who are subcontracting the well drilling work must possess a valid State of Hawaii General Engineering “A” license.
Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid, including additives, payable to the "County of Maui" and in compliance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended.
