NOTICE TO BIDDERS
SEALED BIDS for KAMOLE WATER TREATMENT PLANT HIGH LIFT PUMPS, DWS JOB NO. 08-06, ISLAND OF MAUI, STATE OF HAWAII, will be received by the Director of the Department of Water Supply, Kalana O Maui Building, 5th Floor, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, until 2:00 P.M. ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2010, at which time and place sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The project involves furnishing all labor, tools, materials and equipment as specified in the bid documents necessary to replace the existing high lift pumps, piping, valves, and appurtenances, demolish the existing abandoned backwash water pump assembly, construct a new concrete air-conditioned pump control building with new motor control center and SCADA and PLC, construct a new pump can, valve vault, and piping modifications to accommodate a future fifth pump, and other appurtenant improvements. An additive item to install a fifth pump is also included.
Bid documents may be purchased from the Engineering Division of said department at a cost of NINETY DOLLARS ($90.00) PER SET. A compact disk (CD) containing the bid documents can also be purchased for an additional TEN DOLLARS ($10.00). There will be no refund for these bid documents once they are purchased. Payment shall be in the form of cash, check or money order payable to "Department of Water Supply".
A pre-bid conference has been scheduled at 9:00 A.M. ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2010. Bidders are required to attend. Bidders shall meet at the Department of Water Supply’s Naska Baseyard, 614 Palapala Drive, Kahului, Maui, Hawaii.
To be eligible to bid, bidders must posses a valid State of Hawaii General Engineering Contractor's "A" license.
Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid, including additives, payable to the "County of Maui" and in compliance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended.
