NOTICE TO BIDDERS
SEALED BIDS for the LOWER PAIA WATER TANK REPLACEMENT, JOB NO. 09-09, PAIA, ISLAND OF MAUI, STATE OF HAWAII, will be received by the Director of the Department of Water Supply, Kalana O Maui Building, 5th floor, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, until 2:00 P.M. on November 23, 2010, at which time and place sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The project involves furnishing all labor, tools, materials and equipment as necessary to replace a 100,000 gallon glass fused steel water tank, foundation, and related appurtenances, with a new 300,000 gallon glass fused steel tank and appurtenances. This includes the replacement of existing utilities, construction of a paved driveway, construction and demolition of a temporary tank, and installation of other appurtenant improvements.
Bid documents may be purchased from the Engineering Division of said department at a cost of THIRTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($35.00) PER SET. A compact disk (CD) containing the bid documents can also be purchased for an additional TEN DOLLARS ($10.00). There will be no refund for these bid documents once they are purchased. Payment shall be in the form of cash, check or money order payable to "Department of Water Supply".
A pre-bid conference and tour of the project site is scheduled 10:00 A. M., November 9, 2010. Bidders are not required to attend. Bidders shall meet at the Department of Water Supply’s Engineering Division, 5th floor of the Kalana O Maui Building, 200 S. High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii. Bidders intending to attend this pre-bid conference are requested to call 270-7835 and inform the Department of Water Supply of their intent to attend the conference at least seven (7) days prior to the date of the pre-bid conference.
To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii General Engineering Contractor's “A” or “B” license.
Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid, including additives, payable to the "County of Maui" and in compliance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended.
