NOTICE TO BIDDERS

SEALED BIDS for KU DRIVE WATERLINE IMPROVEMENTS; INCLUDING A  PORTION OF NAKAO DRIVE AND KU DRIVE, WAILUKU, DWS JOB NO. 11-05 (aka 99-13),  ISLAND OF MAUI, STATE OF HAWAII, will be received by the Director of the Department of Water Supply, Kalana O Maui Building, 5^th Floor, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, until 2:00 P.M. ON FEBRUARY 18, 2011, at which time and place sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The project involves furnishing all labor, tools, materials and equipment as specified in the bid documents necessary to replace the existing 6-inch and 2-1/2-inch waterline with an 8" ductile iron waterline, including replacing fire hydrant assemblies, reconnecting all service laterals, relocating residential meters and other waterline appurtenances and improvements necessary to complete the project.

Bid documents may be purchased from the Engineering Division of said department at a cost of THIRTY DOLLARS ($30.00) PER SET.  A compact disk (CD) containing the bid documents can also be purchased for an additional TEN DOLLARS ($10.00).  There will be no refund for these bid documents once they are purchased.  Payment shall be in the form of cash, check or money order payable to "Department of Water Supply".

A pre-bid conference has been scheduled at 9:00 A.M. ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 25, 2010. Bidders are not required to attend.  Bidders shall meet at the Department of Water Supply's Engineering Division, 200 S. High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii.

To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii General Engineering  Contractor's "A'' license.

Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid, including additives, payable to the "County of Maui" and in compliance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended.
