NOTICE TO BIDDERS

SEALED BIDS will be received for WAKIU WELL REPLACEMENT, DRILLING OF EXPLORATORY WELL, DWS JOB NO. 10-03, ISLAND OF MAUI, STATE OF HAWAII, will be received at the Office of the Director of the Department of Water Supply, Kalani O Maui Building, 5th Floor, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Hawaii, 96793, until 2:00 P.M. ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2011 , at which time and place said sealed price bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The project involves furnishing all labor, tools, materials and equipment as specified in the bid documents necessary to drill, case and test pump a 18-inch diameter drill hole with 12-inch diameter casing and approximately 320 feet deep located at Candidate Well No. 1 located at the Wakiu Well Tank Site, TMK: (2) 1-3-004:012, Wakiu, Hana, Maui, Hawaii. Work shall include clearing, grubbing and grading of the well site and access road.

Bid documents may be purchased from the Engineering Division of said department at a cost of TWENTY DOLLARS ($20.00) PER SET. A compact disk (CD) containing the bid documents can also be purchased for an additional $10. There will be no refund for these bid documents once they are purchased. Payment shall be in the form of cash, check or money order payable to "Department of Water Supply".

A MANDATORY pre-bid conference has been scheduled at 10:30 A.M. ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2011. Bidders are required to attend to be allowed to bid. Bidders shall meet at the Department of Water Supply's Hana Baseyard located on Hana Belt Highway at Uakea Road, Maui, Hawaii at the date and time indicated.

To be eligible to bid, all bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii specialty Well Drilling License C57, or have a General Engineering License A and hire a Subcontractor with Well Drilling License C57. Excavating and grading shall be performed by an operator with Excavating, Grading and Trenching License C17 or General Engineering License A.

Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid, including additives, payable to the "County of Maui" and in compliance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended.
