NOTICE TO BIDDERS
SEALED BIDS for the construction of OLINDA WATER TREATMENT PLANT, 3 MILLION GALLON CLEARWELL WATER TANK REFURBISHMENT, JOB NO. 11-12, OLINDA, MAKAWAO, MAUI, STATE OF HAWAII, will be received by the Director of the Department of Water Supply, Kalana O Maui Building, 5th floor, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, until 2:00 P.M. ON DECEMBER 2, 2011, at which time and place sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The project involves furnishing all labor, tools, materials, and equipment necessary to prep, strip, repair, and coat approximately 27,000 square feet of steel surfaces on an existing 3 million gallon steel water tank located at the end of West Olinda Road, Olinda, Makawao, Maui. Work will include the removal of existing coatings, repair of rusted steel plates, protection of the surrounding environment, and application of new protective coatings.
Bid documents may be purchased from the Engineering Division of said department at a cost of FIFTEEN DOLLARS ($15.00) PER DOCUMENT. A compact disk (CD) containing the bid documents can also be purchased for an additional FIVE DOLLARS ($5.00). There will be no refund for these bid documents once they are purchased. Payment shall be in the form of cash, check or money order payable to "Department of Water Supply".
A pre-bid conference and tour of the project site has been scheduled for 9:00 A.M. ON NOVEMBER 18, 2011. Bidders are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to attend. Due to the location of the site, Bidders will ONLY be allowed to tour the project site at this time prior to the Bid Opening. Bidders shall meet at the Department of Water Supply’s Engineering Division, 5th floor of the Kalana O Maui Building, 200 S. High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii. Bidders intending to attend this pre-bid conference are requested to call 270-7835 and inform the Department of Water Supply of their intent to attend the conference at least three (3) days prior to the date of the pre-bid conference.
To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess valid State of Hawaii licenses that are applicable to perform the work required.
Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid, including additives, payable to the "County of Maui" and in compliance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended
