NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Advertisement to Bid
Pursuant to Chapter 103D, Hawaii Revised Statutes, SEALED BIDS for supplying, furnishing and paying for all labor, materials, tools, transportation and equipment necessary to construct in place complete, all work as called for in the plans and specifications for the SOUTH MAUI COMMUNITY PARK - PHASE IA, Job No. P08/009, for the Department of Parks and Recreation, County of Maui, shall be received and time stamped by the Bid Receiver, Purchasing Division, Department of Finance, up to and publicly opened at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 7, 2008.
Bids shall be addressed to the Bid Receiver, Purchasing Division, Department of Finance, Wells Street Professional Center, 2145 Wells Street, Suite 104, Wailuku, Hawaii 96793 and shall be labeled: "SOUTH MAUI COMMUNITY PARK - PHASE IA, Job No. P08/009".
The bid document, including drawings and specifications, will be available on compact disk (CD) with documents in electronic format (PDF), and may be obtained at the office of the Purchasing Division, Department of Finance, Wells Street Professional Center, 2145 Wells Street, Suite 104, Wailuku, Hawaii 96793, on Friday, October 3, 2008.
All prospective bidders shall possess an "A" General Contractors License held in the State of Hawaii.
A pre-bid meeting will be held for the project. Interested parties are to meet at the Kihei Community Center at 9:00 am on Friday, October 17, 2008. All prospective bidders are encouraged to attend.
The Contractor and his Subcontractor(s), if any, shall comply with all applicable revisions of the prevailing wage rate schedule as required under Chapter 104 of the H.R.S.
No proposal will be considered unless accompanied by one of the following forms of bidders’ security: cash, a cashier’s check or certified check on a bank insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or a bidder’s bond executed by an approved surety insurer, made payable to the Director of Finance in the manner, form, and amount required by Section 103D-323 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes. The proposal guaranty shall be equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid submitted.
Bidders must correctly prepare and submit the documents listed in Section 00300, Bid Proposal.
Bidders are requested to submit with their proposal, a State and Federal tax clearance certificate.
The Department of Finance reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive any defects in said proposals for the best interest of the public.
