NOTICE TO BIDDERS
SEALED BIDS for HAMOA WELL #2 DEVELOPMENT PROJECT, DWS JOB NO. 99-18 (B), ISLAND OF MAUI, STATE OF HAWAII, will be received by the Director of the Department of Water Supply, Kalana O Maui Building, 5th Floor, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, until 2:00 P.M. ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2008 at which time and place sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The project involves furnishing all labor, tools, materials and equipment as specified in the bid documents necessary to develop the existing Hamoa Tank Site Well #2. Work at the Hamoa Tank Site will include installation of approximately 300 lineal feet of 6-inch ductile iron pipeline, a deep well vertical turbine line shaft pump and motor, 350 feet of 6-inch steel column pipe, and appurtenant improvements.
Bid documents may be purchased from the DWS Engineering Division at a cost of THIRTY AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($30.00) PER SET. There will be no refund for these bid documents once they are purchased. Payment shall be in the form of cash, check or money order payable to "Department of Water Supply".
To be eligible to bid, bidders must posses a valid State of Hawaii General Engineering Contractor's "A" license and must have a valid "Standard Qualification Questionnaire" on file with the Department’s Engineering Division no later than 48 hours prior to bid opening.
Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid, including additives, payable to the "Department of Water Supply" and in compliance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended.
A MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE AND PROJECT TOUR will be conducted ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2008, starting at 10:00 A.M.. Attendance of the pre-bid conference and project tour is mandatory for all prospective bidders. Bidders attending the pre-bid conference and tour will meet at the DWS Hana Baseyard located on Hana Belt Highway at Uakea Road, Hana, Maui, at the date and time indicated.
