NOTICE TO BIDDERS
SEALED BIDS for MAHINAHINA PERMANENT WELL, DWS JOB NO. 11-06, ISLAND OF MAUI, STATE OF HAWAII, will be received by the Director of the Department of Water Supply, Kalana O Maui Building, 5th Floor, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, until
2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at which time and place sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The project involves furnishing all labor, tools, materials and equipment as specified in the bid documents necessary to create a permanent well and Well Site and Drainage Basin, including a 300,000 gallon Stainless Steel Control Tank, a Control Building housing a Motor Control Center and Chlorination Room, Submersible Pumping Unit and Pump Discharge Piping, a Mixing Tank Site and Drainage Basin, including a 100,000 gallon Stainless Steel Mixing Tank with appurtenant Control valves, and approximately 7,500 ft long 12” Ductile Iron water transmission line between the Control Tank at the Well Site and the Mixing Tank at the Mixing Tank Site, plus an approximately 6,000 ft long 12 ft wide Well Access Road with appurtenant drainage swales and culverts.
Bid documents may be purchased from the Engineering Division of said department at a cost of EIGHTY DOLLARS ($80.00) PER SET. A compact disk (CD) containing the bid documents can also be purchased for an additional TEN DOLLARS ($10.00). There will be no refund for these bid documents once they are purchased. Payment shall be in the form of cash, check or money order payable to "Department of Water Supply".
A pre-bid conference has been scheduled at 9:00 A.M. ON Wednesday, October 10, 2012, with a site visit to follow. Bidders are not required to attend. Bidders shall meet at the Department of Water Supply’s Engineering Division, 200 S. High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii.
To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii General Engineering Contractor's “A” license.
Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid, including additives, payable to the "County of Maui" and in compliance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended.
