NOTICE TO BIDDERS
PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 103D, HRS, SEALED BID PROPOSALS for supplying, furnishing, and paying for all labor, materials, tools, transportation, and equipment necessary to construct in place complete, all work as called for on the plans and specifications for CENTRAL MAUI LANDFILL, WIND BARRIER WALL, Job No. 08-09/P-27, will be received by the Bid Receiver, Purchasing Division, Department of Finance, Wells Street Professional Center, 2145 Wells Street, Suite 104, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, up to and publicly opened at 2:00 P.M., on Thursday, November 13, 2008.
This project involves all labor, materials, equipment and services necessary to complete an approximately 170-foot long by 20-foot high concrete unit masonry wall and concrete footing and miscellaneous paving and drainage. Work will include, but is not limited to, the following: Excavation and backfill; trenching and backfill and surface restoration; piping, manholes, catch basin and cleanout; concrete paving; guardrail; concrete foundations, and concrete unit masonry. Work will occur at the Central Maui Landfill Entrance Facility, Pulehu Rd., Puunene, Maui.
Plans, specifications, and proposal forms may be obtained at the Department of Finance, Purchasing Division, at the address above or by submitting a request in writing to that same address. Bidders must be qualified in compliance with Section 103-310, H.R.S. A State of Hawaii Contractor's License is required.
Prospective bidders are requested to attend a pre-bid meeting and job walk to be held October 29, 2008 beginning at 9:30 A.M. at the Central Maui Landfill entrance facility, Pulehu Rd., Puunene, Maui.
The Contractor and all Subcontractor(s), if any, shall comply with all applicable revisions of the prevailing wage rate schedule as required by Chapter 104, H.R.S.
No proposal will be considered unless accompanied by one of the following forms of bidders security: cash, a cashier's check or certified check on a bank insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or a bidder's bond executed by an approved surety insurer, made payable to the Director of Finance in the manner, form, and amount required by Section 103D-323, H.R.S. The proposal guaranty shall be equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid submitted.
